Gareji Lavra Monastery & Udabno caves-being a special tourist attraction, visit to Bodbe Nunnery 9th c.- one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia and walk in Kakheti „town of Love“- Sighnaghi, all of these sights representing truly special tourist attractions. In the morning pick up from the hotel. Head to David Gareji desert via village Sagarejo.
Turning from the Eastern main road, for last 30 km, we will drive on ground roads in semi desert. The classic short walk takes you through an abundance of sandstone colors, extraordinary medieval frescoes, birdlife and semi-desert wildlife, the picturesque landscape and rock carved-out water channels near the entrance of the monks’ residence.
Optional Picnic lunch nearby the Lavra Monastery from the 6th c and Udabno caves.
2-3 hour trekking, grade easy. Upward climb - 200 m. Max elevation - 875 m.
After picnic drive to Bodbe monastery (2 km from Signaghi) - the monastery is one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia, due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th century female evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrine there. Continue to Sighnaghi town – an old trading town with 17th c defensive wall around; Cobbled streets and terra cotta tile-roofed houses with colorful carved balconies and breathtaking views of the Alazani Valley give it a very

After breakfast drive to Telavi (administrative centre of Kakheti region) Have wine tasting at the 16th century wine cellar located in Velistsikhe village, Afterwards drive to visit Gremi complex, which used to be the capital of Kakheti region between 14th-16th centuries. Continue tour to Alaverdi Cathedral which is most significant religious and cultural site of Kakheti. Evening arrival in Telavi. Have a nice evening walking tour in the centre of Telavi town.

Have breakfast at the hotel. Drive from Telavi to Tbilisi via Gombori pass. Start the full day sightseeing tour of Tbilisi city from Trinity cathedral (1995-2004), the highest one in Georgia. That’s the place where the Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia arranges public baptism every year. Take a nice walk on Sharden street, en-route you can see the small sculpture of Tamada (toast master) visit of the Caravansary, (the History museum of Georgia) rich of various modern exhibits. Continue to Sioni cathedral from the 13th c. And Erekle II Street full of nice cafes bars. Cross the glass Bridge
of Peace. Get in the cable car and drive up to Narikala fortress 4th c. Stroll down to the mosque, little canyon and waterfall in Legvtakhevi area. Continue to Abanotubani, sulfur bath houses. Here you can see the colorful bath (Chreli Abano) Alexander Pushkin’s favorite one. Finish the old city tour at Maidan square.
